Our Story

We’re Marco and Jake, the two friends behind Casa do Frango, and we wanted to say a proper hello.

This whole thing started with summers in the Algarve. One of us is from there, whilst the other now calls it his spiritual home. Long lunches at the beach. Ice cold Super Bock or vinho verde as the sun went down. Come evening, we’d head into the local frangarias, the smell of wood charcoal heavy in the street. That’s the feeling we wanted to bring to London with Casa do Frango.

Yes, we’re known for the chicken, but we’re really about Portuguese-inspired hospitality and dining as a whole, with everything cooked to share and put in the middle of the table. Two values shape how we do it:

Quality. Our meat comes from HG Walter, our fish from Bethnal Green Fishmongers, our vegetables from Smith and Brock. Best in class, every time, no compromises.

Simplicity. The Portuguese trust the ingredient, and so do we. No overcomplicating it, no masking what’s there. We make everything fresh in house, respect the cooking process, focus on execution, and like in Portugal, only ever grill over wood charcoal.

We opened our first site in London Bridge in 2018, just behind Borough Market. Our second came in 2022 on pedestrianised Heddon Street, just off Regent Street (on the border of Soho and Mayfair). Our third site in Victoria followed in 2023 – located just outside the station, it also has a huge terrace, perfect for the long summer days.

Our Food

Our food is simple and ingredient-led. In the spirit of tascas (local eateries found across Portugal) our menu is centred around the wood-charcoal grill and dishes are designed to be shared, family-style.

Our signature Frango Piri-Piri is cooked over open flames for a smoky char and brushed with our blend of chilli, oil and spices, as is tradition.

Our drinks take the same ingredient-led approach. Our house Boa Pinga wine, selected from Monçāo in northern Portugal, is made for sharing and enjoyed easily alongside our food.

 

 

Our Suppliers

Our ingredients are at the heart of our dishes. We source all of our meat through our partners, family-run butchery HG Walter. Our signature Frango Piri-Piri uses higher welfare chicken from a single farm. We also partner with London-based fishmonger, Bethnal Fish.

Portugália is our Portuguese specialist supplier, connecting us with small producers across Portugal, from family-run farms to traditional makers, allowing us to bring quality, authentic products to our table.
